Readability is a product goal
Weather Slate’s direction favors clear hierarchy, readable type, sufficient contrast, and a manageable amount of information at each level. A useful layout should help someone find the location, time, and main condition before moving into details.
We aim to pair meaningful numbers and text with visual information. A color alone should not carry the entire meaning of a score, a weather condition, or a development status. The screenshots show labels alongside the score for this reason.
iPhone accessibility work
VoiceOver labels, a sensible reading order, and Dynamic Type support where applicable are goals for the app. Complex elements such as charts, radar controls, and compact widgets need particular attention because enlarging text alone does not explain their information.
Weather Slate is still in development. This page does not claim that every screen has completed accessibility testing, that all device configurations are supported, or that the app has been certified against a standard.
Using this website
The site uses semantic headings, a skip-to-content link, keyboard-accessible links and disclosures, and text descriptions for app screenshots. Page content works without JavaScript. The layout adapts to smaller screens, and motion is reduced when the browser requests it.
App screenshots are non-interactive illustrations of the real pre-release app. Their small text is not the only way to understand a feature: the accompanying pages explain the purpose and limitations in ordinary text. They are not demonstrations of VoiceOver behavior.
Tell us where something gets in the way
Email support@weatherslate.com with the page or app screen, what you were trying to do, and what made it difficult. If helpful, include the device, operating-system version, assistive technology, and app build. Share only information you are comfortable sending.
For an inaccessible page, describe the information you need so support can help with the content as well as the issue. Accessibility is ongoing work, and feedback should lead to specific improvements rather than a blanket compliance claim.
