Common questions
Can I download Weather Slate yet?
Weather Slate is coming soon to iPhone. No public launch date is announced. What’s coming separates the launch focus, development work, and future ideas. Existing screenshots show the real pre-release app.
Where does Weather Slate work?
Weather Slate is designed for iPhone and weather coverage in the United States. Coverage and individual weather products may vary by location. Use the App Store listing, once available, to check device and iOS requirements.
What does the Weather Score mean?
Weather Score gives you a quick perspective on conditions for everyday planning. It is not a safety rating or an official warning. Check the detailed forecast, current conditions, and official alerts before making weather-sensitive decisions.
Why am I not receiving weather alerts?
In a pre-release build with Weather Alerts controls, check Weather Slate’s notification permission in iPhone Settings, any Focus or notification-summary settings, and the Weather Alerts toggle in the app. Alerts use your last updated current location, so open the app with location access when you travel. Confirm that the location is correct and that your phone has a working connection. Delivery also depends on weather sources, network availability, and device settings, so alerts are not guaranteed. Follow official emergency alerts and local guidance.
How do I change location permissions?
Open iPhone Settings, find Weather Slate’s location permissions, and review the access you have granted. You can also review Location Services under Privacy & Security. Available options depend on your iOS version and the app. Changing access may affect local weather or alerts.
My location is wrong. What should I check?
First confirm whether you selected your current location or a saved place. Check the state when searching for towns with the same name. Review location permission, then reopen the app while connected. You can search for a place manually if you prefer not to share your current location. See saved locations for common mix-ups.
Why does the radar or forecast look different?
Weather sources update on different schedules, and conditions can change between updates. Check the selected location, any displayed update time, and your connection. Radar is still in development. If a map is blank or appears out of date, retry when connected and let support know the place, time, and app version. A blank map does not mean there is no precipitation. The radar guide explains timestamps and limitations.
Why can’t I find a Weather Slate widget?
Widgets are in development, so availability depends on the pre-release build. Do not assume every announced idea is included in your build. If a widget is present but seems stale, open the app and check its current information; iOS manages widget refresh timing. Include the app version and iOS version when reporting a problem.
Why did the forecast change?
New observations and forecast updates can move the expected timing, intensity, or location of weather. Compare the same place and period, then check the update time. Use the hourly guide for timing and the 10-day guide for longer-range trends. Missing data should not be read as dry or safe conditions.
How do I change usage analytics?
Starting with version 0.2 (Build 17), Share Usage Analytics is off by default and is controlled under Settings → Privacy. Turning it off stops future collection through the app controls but does not automatically delete historical information. See the full privacy choices.
Are safety features behind a subscription?
No. Safety-based weather features stay free. Weather Slate has no ads, and Plus is optional. Plus is planned for launch at US$2.99 per month or US$19.99 per 12 months, billed annually. The feature bundle is not final. Review Plus information and the offer inside the app before any future purchase.
How do I manage or cancel Plus?
Once purchases are available, for a subscription purchased through Apple, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions and choose Weather Slate. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. See Apple’s cancellation instructions for details.
I paid for Plus, but it isn’t showing.
Confirm that you are using the Apple Account associated with the purchase, check that the subscription is active, and reopen the app while connected. If your version of the app offers Restore Purchases, try that option. Contact us with the app version and a description of the issue if it continues; don’t send payment credentials.
How do I request a refund or ask about privacy?
For Apple-billed purchases, use Apple’s refund request service; eligibility is determined by Apple. For questions about personal information or deletion, see our privacy choices and contact the support address on this page.
For urgent weather situations
Support is not an emergency service and is not monitored for urgent weather warnings. Follow official alerts and instructions from local authorities. Visit the National Weather Service for official U.S. weather information. If you are in immediate danger, contact emergency services.
